What you should know about Sole Movement
Sole Movement Dance School encourages confidence, expression, discipline and enjoyment of dance and performance through all of our classes. Sole Movement prides itself on the quality coaching provided by our excellent team of teachers. Our friendly staff all work with the same aim to teach each and every one of our students through exciting dance classes that will both encourage, challenge and inspire. Classes we offer Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern Jazz, Tap, Contemporary and Hip Hop. Exams can be a positive experience for children and lead to a great sense of accomplishment.
Alicia has been dancing since she was 3 years old and currently holds her associate diploma level teachers qualification with the ISTD in Imperial Ballet and Modern Theatre Dance. She has studied and trained in both ISTD, NZAMD RAD and danced as well as taught a range of styles including jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, musical theatre and hip hop. Alicia is very excited about becoming the Principal Dance Teacher at Sole Movement and she is looking forward to seeing the talented students blossom grow. I trained with The Wellington Performing Arts Company gaining a Diploma in Musical Theatre and Performing Arts, this has led me to have many years performing and choreographing various wonderful stage shows.
A huge passion of mine is dance and I have also gained my teaching qualification with NZAMD Tap, Jazz and Ballet Syllabuses. Nothing motivates me more than developing children through Performance and Dance. Alana is a dance addict, she begged her parents for lessons as soon as she could talk. By the time she was three, her mother finally relented and she started ballet

As with the other dance styles, our tap students perform at the last of year production. We have an excellent and different timetable with enough of dance styles to choose from, with something for everyone to enjoy. Partner work and floor work are key focuses of contemporary dance, making it great for developing upper body strength. This is a highly lively dance style and one of the maximum enjoyable for students of all ages.
As we are a very exam focused dance establishment, classes marked in RED indicate that the student must attend 2 classes per week and the price is a entire for both classes for a term some prices also include a 3rd class of body conditioning. Hip hop is ideal for those who love a relaxed environment where you can express yourself freely and move with the beat
